Welding

Master the Art of Welding

Welders at PPATKS play a critical role in every area of the construction industry where metals and alloys are joined. They collaborate closely with plumbers, pipefitters, sprinkler fitters, and HVACR technicians, performing installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, as well as joining structural steel brackets and supports.

Welding requires versatility—our apprentices work in a variety of environments and positions while studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications for each job. They learn to measure, cut, and weld using a wide range of tools and methods, including Oxy-fuel cutting, Plasma Arc cutting, and other mechanical techniques, followed by grinding and squaring pipe.

Safety is a top priority. Welders are trained to recognize workplace hazards and apply best practices to minimize risks. Apprentices gain experience working with multiple alloys, as well as carbon steel, on a regular basis, building the skills needed to excel in the field.
